Frequently Asked Questions
We get asked many things regarding our products and on this page we have tried to give you some pointers as to making a decision about which product would be most suitable for you and answers to our most frequently asked questions.
Event Tent Marquees
1. Which marquee should I choose?
This is all dependant on what you will be using the marquee for, how much you are willing to spend, how much space you have available and the lifespan you wish to achieve from the product.
The Pavillion Marquees are great for use in the summer, but are not advisable for inclement weather or for commercial use. The Garden Marquees are again great for the use as a leisure product. They withstand more inclement weather than the pavillion and will give you a longer product life. They are also available in a wider range of sizes. The Heavy Duty Marquees are great for garden or commercial use. They are used widely by caravan and camping clubs, charities, traders, customers wanting to use them as temporary storage etc. They are a more robust version of the garden marquee. The Commercial Marquee is aimed at users who want to have a marquee up for any length of time, those that hire out marquees, those that use them regularly to trade from, semi-permanent storgae facilities or who wish to put them up in an area that is particularly exposed.
2. What is the length of the longest bar?
The Pavillion Marquees and made up of bars that slot together and the longest is approximately 40". The Garden Marquees, Heavy Duty and Commercial Marquees have a longest bar of just over 2M or 6' 6".
3. Do the marquees come complete with everything I will need to erect them?
The marquees contain all poles, covers including sides, bungees, joints, tie downs and stakes. The accessories page shows the other available options such as ground bars, lighting etc.
4. What do the ground bars do?
The ground bars run around the bottom of the marquee and help to stabilise the structure. They are not strictly necessary when erecting the marquee on grass, but they are essential if putting the marquee on a hard standing area. They then act as an anchor point for weights or sandbags and the sides can be bungeed to them to stop them flapping too much in the breeze.
Instant Canopies
1. Which instant canopy should I choose?
The Swift Shelter Commercial range of canopies is great for those traders wishing to have cover on an occasional basis such as car boots. They are not designed for use day in and day out. The Instaframe is a strong and robust canopy that can be used in any situation. Although one person can put the 3M x 3M canopy up on their own, it is always advisable to have two or more helping as these canopies are heavy in comparison to others, but that is due to maintaining the strength and durability of the structure. This canopy can be printed upon using a vinyl heat transfer process. This allows for simple text and graphics. The Vitabri canopy is the one favoured by market operators, who are looking for a canopy that is quick and easy to put up, but maintains the best appearance for the longest period of time. Because the covers are PVC they come clean easily. These canopies can also be digitally printed with a wide range of photographs and images. The Vitabri is often purchased by PR and marketing companies looking for an effective tool for promoting brand awareness.
2. What size do the canopies pack down to?
Height wise the canopies pack down to a size of roughly 5' - 5' 6" and a width and breadth that varies from 12" x 12" to about 18" x 18". The Instaframe range of canopies come in a wheeled carry bag. These can also be purchased to go with the Swift Shelter Commercial or Vitabri products, according to size.
3. Do I need any tools for assembly?
No assembly tools are required. The first time the structure is used, you will be required to put the roof on, but once on the roof cover stays on.
4. Are you able to provide all spare parts?
All spare parts are available to order.
