How To Measure My Caravan For An Awning

Measuring for an awning.

You have your caravan and the new season is here at last. With the need for more space you decide to acquire an awning - but how do you go about choosing the correct size.

If you have a manual for your caravan, you will often find a catalogue size or measurement suggestions in there. If you do not have a manual then it can be quite a daunting prospect to decide which is best.

Different awning manufacturers use different size ranges, but follow this simple guide and you should be confident in your purchase.

	Put the caravan on level ground.
	Around the outside of your caravan is an awning rail.
	Take a piece of string weighted at on end and thread the string from the ground at point A as shown in the picture above, around the awning rail and down to the ground at point B on the other side.
	Measure the length of string (in cms )used and that is the size you will require.

For example you decide to purchase a Tuscany Awning.

You measure your caravan as above and find that the measurement is 840cms. The size you would require would be Catalogue Size 8, Size 850 To Fit 835-859 as the 840cms falls into this size bracket.

Measuring for Porch Awnings

To measure your van for the correct height of porch awning, measure from the awning channel located above the door down to the ground level.
